Working Towards Your Dreams And Aspirations

Posted by admin | Posted in Main Content | Posted on 17-04-2010

Everybody has dreams and aspirations they want to do. Some of these dreams are small, while others are enormous. But, regardless of how big they are, everyone should have the chance to accomplish them.

Some may start with a laptop that has an LED backlight, which in itself has endless possibilities. If you want to become a writer, filmmaker, photographer, or even a web designer, that’s one of the first things you get.

Some may even start with an Alvarez acoustic guitar–mainly those who want to be songwriters, singers, and musicians. But the most important thing to start with, is a goal. There are elderly people who sigh away the rest of their lives because they never got to accomplish their dreams when they were younger. You don’t want to be there! Start now, while you are young and have a big life ahead of you. Here are some tips to help you get started on the road to your dreams:

Education. Before you can accomplish some dreams, you need the education to get there. For physics, or paleontology, you have to have an education in those areas to become a scientist in them. Even education in acting, computer science, or creative writing is helpful, making you better at it than you are. With so many colleges, grants, classes, and scholarships available in the world today, education is right at our fingertips–more than ever. If you have a chance to get a better education that helps you with your dreams, you need to jump at it.

Determination. Many people get started on their dreams and when the road gets too lonely or rough they just give up. You’ll never get anywhere doing that! You have to have a steady determination. Who cares what work and strain you have to go through to get there. The end is always worth it! So don’t give up no matter how hard it is. When you’re accomplishing your dream, you’ll be happy about all the work you went through, and be thankful you didn’t give up.

Support. Sometimes, people reject others simply because of the dreams they pursue, or they may not reject you, but just not support you. But, even so, there is always a few that will be there and support you. That’s always wonderful to have, and very helpful, as they help you to be strong when you’re weak, get up when you fall down, and to keep on going, even though its hard. Friends are important; make sure you keep them, and keep them close.

Although you do all these things, some dreams are still next to impossible–or, so people say. You’ll need to ignore status quo, insults, everything, and possibly, everyone, that tries to bring you down. Just keep your eyes on your goal, moving ever forward, never backward. Even if you just have some scrapbook pages to start with, sooner or later, if you work hard enough, and never give up, you’ll get to the place you want to be. It just takes effort, time, and sometimes, money, and you’ll accomplish your dreams, living the life you always just hoped for. Have fun, and good luck!

Can You Recommend A Children’s Book About Goal Setting/ Plans For The Future?

Posted by admin | Posted in Main Content | Posted on 03-06-2009

I am looking for books that will motivate children to imagine what they want to do in the future – career, home, family, special dreams, etc. The more broad the book is the better.

Goal Setting Worksheets

Posted by admin | Posted in Articles, Main Content | Posted on 18-05-2009

Major achievements like goal reaching do not come easy for most people. But until we get to meeting these goals, we should start with defining and clarifying them in our minds. To well organized people, visual cues will therefore make the best way to determine strategies and clarify ideas and points of interest. In fact, adequate goal setting represents the purpose for the creation of goal setting sheets.

The so-called goal setting worksheets are simple pieces of paper used to record plans, dreams and wishes. The most basic format used for such papers comes as a list with the goals, the steps necessary for the carrying out of the plan, the reasons that motivate the action and the final reward.

You should not imagine that creating one such piece of paper can be done in 5 minutes and be reliable. It usually takes a while for one to come up with an elaborated viable list of goals and step-by-step plans for each of them. Becoming realistic and time-oriented is not an easy task; that is why it is advisable not to hurry when working with goal setting worksheets.

Every now and then, you need to re-check the plan and its outlines. Life often brings changes that transforms the nature of the set goals, turning them into something no longer desirable or doable. Consequently, a reevaluation process, a new prioritization and a reorganization should be analyzed and assumed if necessary.

Another smart way of making keeping track of your goals a lot easier is by the use of goal posters instead of the goal setting sheets. It has been proven that visual cues to which one is permanently exposed are very successful motivating agents. A poster with plans and time frames that is stuck on your office or studio wall will bring the necessary impulse.

Goal setting worksheets remain pretty ordinary and common compared to the more creative posters. The latter involve more space and more creativity that will surely imprint a better visualization of the plan and a better mood to yourself. Highlighting will give a higher visual force to the posters in a superior way as compared to a basic sheet of paper.

All in all, whether goal setting worksheets or goal posters, remember that it is important to use some kind of media that helps you get order in your thoughts and future plans.

Goal Setting Forms

Posted by admin | Posted in Articles, Main Content | Posted on 07-04-2009

Books have started appearing on the market with a great deal of information and theory that relates to the steps of setting and achieving a goal. More than that, these materials also provide their buyers with goal setting forms, thanks to the authors’ intention intention to support readers as much as possible. But we should keep in mind that human beings learn best from personal mistakes. And although we seem to know how theory works, most people fail in goal setting because of the faulty practice.

Goals setting forms are somewhat useful though because they help you get a clear picture of what you really want and how you may achieve that. They also help in that they prioritize certain aspects that you intend to portray for your future and may help you rid yourself of distractions. These goal setting forms become like a written plan that constantly reminds you of the future needs or the personal aspirations for the end of a certain road.

Plans represent another name for these forms of action. Surprisingly enough, recent surveys have brought into the spotlight the fact that less than ten percent of people nowadays live without having a life plan and feel that their passions and dreams fade out as time passes. When people taking part to social experiments have been presented with this theory of setting goals and designing goal setting forms to give themselves a direction in life, the missing element in the life puzzle became obvious.

Goal setting forms are designed in a variety of ways depending on where you buy them or where you find inspiration. Some models may begin with some kind of pledge that you sign stating that you will do your best to pursue the goal under discussion. This pledge is meant to motivate even more than the simple plan you make and mentally declare yourself committed to. After the pledge, you simply write down the aspiration you envisage as the objective with the mention that you should make sure that you aim at something specific, realistic, measurable or achievable.

Next follow the specifics such as the methods you are going to use in order to get there where you want to in the future. The next item on the goal setting forms should cover the definition of the steps you will adopt and then you should mention a reward you will present yourself with once you have achieved the goal. The specification of the reward acts as a motivation factor that will power you further on the way to achieving the goal.

Goals And Objectives

Posted by admin | Posted in Articles, Main Content | Posted on 31-03-2009

Although many materials write about goals and objectives, many people cannot know the difference between the two concepts. The Oxford Dictionary says that goals are those dreams we hope to fulfill, and, the perfect equivalent for the term goal is aim. The same dictionary defines objectives as things we are struggling to achieve. Without too much scrutiny into it, one cannot see the in-depth distinction between the terms. However, the two definitions cannot share the same meaning because one refers to hoping while the other to trying. Specificity comes with the latter verb, more specific than the former, in fact, such a tiny detail reflects the distinction between goals and objectives.

Other pretentious definitions of the concepts consider goals broader than objectives or in other words, goals are closer to intentions while objectives reflect superior precision. If we were to investigate goals and objectives from the perspective of the criteria related to the level of understanding and formulating them, objectives are thus more tangible than goals. To give a picture of these differences, we can think of goals and objectives from the perspective of teaching grammar material in schools. Thus, the goal of the lesson consists in the students learning how to use past tense simple. There should be several specific objectives for the goal as follows: the students identifying whether the verbs are regular or irregular, adding  or using the second irregular form of the verb depending on the case, using the correct word order depending on whether they are formulating a statement or a question, adding the auxiliary did in questions, adding the auxiliary did in negative statements, and so on.

As the above example shows, we can differentiate between goals and objectives in that goals are more general while objectives represent specific situations in the process of goal achieving. In other words, objectives are included in goals as specific steps to take. Furthermore, objectives are measurable while goals are much harder to measure. You can give a test and check whether students rely on the newly acquired objectives; but the measuring of the goal is impossible under the circumstances, as it can only be deducted from the objectives appreciation and analysis. That is why courses of foreign languages require periodical testing determining how much of the objectives has been achieved. However, final tests are meant for proficiency purposes, and goals will be this time under scrutiny.
